It's time to Spring Forward!

It's time to Spring Forward!

Exciting times are ahead for us all this weekend with the clocks going forward bringing longer daylight hours and also the new "Rule of 6" starting Monday where we can meet more friends and family outdoors.

This has got me thinking about this new way forward in our social lives and I'm so excited to be meeting my friends again, albeit staying local, and still outdoors socially distanced.

So this week I've arranged a few meet ups with girlfriends for a walk across Rodborough Common followed by takeaway coffees and cakes at Clementines @ Woodcock & Cavendish here in the beautiful Cotswold town of Nailsworth. With their extensive selection of coffees, variety of teas and the most delicious hot chocolate this is definitely our new go-to place to meet. A perfect way for us all to catch-up on each others news over a flat white and a sneaky Pastels de Nata. We'll probably finish with a ice-cream to walk home with, for me it's their Orange Chocolate Chip and my friend always has their delicious Raspberry Sorbet in a dark chocolate cone - what a treat !

With Easter fast approaching next weekend and, even though we cannot meet up in our own homes, I will be doing some baking to take round to family and friends to celebrate this year.  Usually, I bake Nigella's Simnel Cake but this year I thought I would be more adventurous and have a go at making her Hot Cross buns from my favourite cookbook "Feast". Presented in neatly ribboned boxes I'm sure these sticky buns will go down a treat.

Plus I love an excuse to wear my new Spring wardrobe! If it's a wet day I shall pop on my Carlyle waterproof jacket and comfy Joggers. For Easter Sunday, traditionally a day of eating with family and always an excuse for us dress up, I'm really looking forward to wearing my new twin set in pretty Persian pink teamed with my ever faithful white stretched jeans.

We've got plenty of other additions to your spring wardrobe, including cashmere ponchos, ladies' country wellies and even country pet dog coats and doggie raincoats for your furry friends.

It's a great time to look forward and finally spend some quality time with our friends and family in the Spring sunshine - I really cannot wait xx
